Wire Rod in Coil Strap Standard

To stop any confusion with the Load Restraint standards when changing between Summer and Winter standards, it has been decided to keep one standard that accommodates both requirements all year around. 11 coil loads remain at 12 straps, 12 coil loads now need one extra strap over the ‘gun barrel’ arrangement at the rear, therefore 13 straps.

Trailer Interchanges

To reduce the build up of non Tata waste onsite and improve the standard of trailers and drivers arriving at the Scunthorpe site we have all been tasked with changing our methods. It is intended to have greater interaction and cooperation with all parties concerned, we want clean trailers fit for purpose.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

1. Ensure you are Site Inducted.

2.Have the required PPE.

3.Ensure co-drivers are also inducted and have PPE.

4.Maintain a clean trailer.

5.Ensure damage to trailers has been reported.

6.Use Recycling facilities where available.

7.Have a valid Reference number.

8.Know the booking in procedures.

9.Be respectful to Gate Staff.

Trailer Collections

When asking drivers to collect empty trailers from Scunthorpe it would be expected that incoming drivers are aware of the site procedures. All drivers should report in as they would for a Loaded trailer collection, with a Site induction, PPE and follow the local booking in process. This ensures people know you are onsite and have the authority to remove trailers from site. This reduces the chance of any confrontation or misunderstandings at trailer parks and concerns over trailer theft. CONTACT POFM FOR INFORMATION.

ALL VEHICLES WILL BE SUBJECT TO RANDOM STOP CHECKS AT THE GATES!
