Tractor Unit and Trailer - Safety Focus
Tractor units and trailers are susceptible to the weather, especially during winter months. The cold, rain and salt water they are exposed to has the potential to cause damage to moving parts. Drivers could be putting their own life and others at risk by attempting to repair faults themselves.
In order to prevent any accidents or incidents occurring, we would ask hauliers and drivers to check:
Trailers:
- Trailer roof opens and closes smoothly

Tractor Units:
- Serviced and maintained regularly
- Batteries checked and a battery isolater is fitted
- Audible handbrake alarm / reversing alarm are workiing
- Lights are working and in good condition
