Summer Heat and PPE

Please remember that even in the hottest weather your PPE MUST be worn, the hazards remain the same no matter what the temperature.

PPE Overalls and Gloves

When securing steel, Drivers can encounter sharp edges and easily cut themselves. Keeping arms, legs and hands covered can help to reduce the risk of cuts and scrapes.

Unauthorised Passengers

As always, but especially during the summer holidays, you are reminded that:-

No Children or Unauthorised Passengers are permitted at Tata Sites.

ZERO TOLERANCE is now in place in order to ensure the safety of personnel on sites and also the wellbeing of people (particularly minors). Our policy is to turn any vehicle with an unauthorised passenger away.

Keeping Things Tidy - Rubbish

PPE Overalls and Gloves

Nobody likes to work in a messy and litter strewn environment. It not only looks unsightly but it can be a hazard. When preparing your trailers please ensure all discarded packaging, dunnage and general waste is put in the correct skips and bins provided at all loading and customer sites.

Man Machine Interface

Every year we still see incidents of Employees and Contractors having accidents when coming into contact with moving vehicles at loading points. How can we reduce these incidents?

When arriving at Loading Points always pay attention to the Inductions and take 2 minutes to familiarise yourself with your surroundings.
