House Keeping Safety Bulletin

Accompanying this Newsletter is a Safety bulletin regarding general housekeeping and slips, trips and falls. Please remind all Drivers to be fully aware of their surroundings and to look out for any potential hazards. Slips, trips and falls are accidents which are generally very preventable if we all keep our own areas tidy and look out for each other.

Coinciding with the attached Safety Bulletin are details below of an incident regarding a driver who suffered a dislocation and fracture to his right ankle when exiting his cab unit.

  • The lorry arrived in the hours of darkness.
  • On exiting the cab the driver came down on the edge of the road with his right foot going over on his ankle causing the injury.
Foot

Please re-state to drivers:

  • Appropriate Safety Footwear must be worn at all times
  • Ensure 3 points of contacts when accessing and exiting cab units
  • Pay attention to where you are parking and where you will be placing your footing.
Hapy New Year

And lastly, we hope 2014 has been a good year for you all and Best wishes for a happy, healthy and prosperous 2015 from all of us at P&O Ferrymasters Ltd.
